This blog is going to be a mix of everything I love: design trends, tips and tricks for both beginners and seasoned designers, and—because life is messy and full of stories—a bit of what's going on in my personal world too. Think of it as a place where creativity and real life come together.
Whether you’re looking to improve your design skills, catch up on industry trends, or simply connect with another creative mind, you’ll find something here. Let’s dive into what you can expect from this blog!
What You’ll Find on This Blog:
1. Design Trends: What’s Hot Right Now
As any designer knows, trends in graphic design move quickly. What’s cutting-edge today might feel outdated by next season. That’s why keeping an eye on trends is essential, not just for staying current but for continuing to evolve as a designer.
In this blog, I'll regularly cover the latest design trends—everything from typography and color palettes to design techniques and software updates. Whether it’s minimalist, bold, retro, or futuristic styles, we’ll explore what’s making waves in the design world and how you can incorporate these trends into your work.
But don’t worry, I won’t just tell you what’s trending; I’ll also give you some context. Why are these trends emerging? How do they reflect broader cultural movements? Understanding the “why” behind a trend helps you use it more effectively in your own projects.

We all know that the creative process can be full of unexpected twists and turns, and I’m excited to share those moments with you.

A Little About Me:
I guess this is the part where I should introduce myself, right? My name is Tabatha Alcina, and I’ve been a graphic designer for almost my entire life :P. I got my start designing graphics for people in chat rooms when I was a preteen! It stuck and here I am almost 30 years later doing the same kind of work!
Design, for me, is more than just creating something visually appealing. It’s about problem-solving, communicating ideas, and connecting with people. Whether it’s a brand’s logo or a website’s layout, design has the power to influence how people think and feel. That’s what keeps me inspired every day.
When I’m not working on design projects, you can usually find me drawing and painting, playing the ukelele, finding a new hiking spot, or simply enjoying some downtime with friends and family. Balance is key, right?
